The Regional Science Fair for area grade 7 to grade 12 students will take place on Friday, April 13th at the Thousand Islands Mall in Brockville with the Awards Ceremony to follow. Registration of projects for the Fair are due Wednesday, April 4th and can be mailed (postmarked by March 23rd), or submitted on-line. Top winners qualify to attend the all-expenses paid Canada Wide Science Fair event to be held in May.
Once again, the Fair Committee has arranged for a bus to assist with students travelling to the Regional Fair from the Lanark County end of the region (Carleton Place, Almonte, Smiths Falls, Perth).
Students are encouraged to start their planning for Science Fair and to discuss support for their projects at school and at home. There are resources in schools and on-line to spur the creative juices when picking a science fair topic. Most of these sites encourage students to “pick a topic they are interested in” and that they will enjoy learning about in more detail.
